The purpose of this project is:-
The Government of Karnataka has launched this scheme to distribute free laptops to encourage higher education for poor and middle class students and to ensure that every poor and middle class student is equipped with computer knowledge and can use it to engage themselves in the technological era.
This will encourage digital education, help economically disadvantaged students, and make computer literacy a much easier path to their future.
Who is eligible for the free laptop scheme:-
To be a beneficiary of this free scheme, the candidate must fulfill the conditions mentioned below.
Residence: Must be a resident of Karnataka
Financial background: Annual income should be less than ₹2.5 lakhs
Category:
SC/ST, OBC, Minority, BCM students are given first priority and can apply.
Educational Qualification
- Must have passed 12th grade.
- Undergraduate (UG) first year students can apply
- Eligible students from technical education (Engineering, Polytechnic, ITI) are also eligible.
Documents required for application:-
- Aadhar card
- Income certificate
- College admission confirmation letter
- Passport-sized photo
- Voter Identity/Residence Verification
- Class 12th Marksheet
- caste certificate
You can apply online on your mobile phone with all the documents shown above in correct format. You should scan all these documents before applying.
How to apply online?:-
- Visit the official website and read the information provided there.
- Then find the “Free Laptop Scheme” section.
- Read the application form completely and then click on the link → Click on Online Application .
- Fill your details correctly without any mistakes i.e. name, mobile, course details, caste, income etc. and then enter each one without any mistakes.
- Upload the scanned documents so that all the documents requested there are clearly visible.
- Finally, click on the Submit button to submit the application and receive an acknowledgement number after submitting the application .
When will the laptop be delivered:-
Distribution to eligible candidates is expected to begin through government colleges from July-August 2025 .
